In this image folks from the church are giving free oil changes for single parents to keep their car running smoothly. While the oil was being changed the owner enjoyed refreshments in the fellowship building.
Several members of the church regularly volunteer at Monroe Camp and Retreat Center doing repair and maintenance. The group works at camp most Fridays, weather permitting. They humorously call themselves the “Grumpy Old Men (GOM)” and are composed of folks from several churches and a couple of retired pastors too.
The church also has participated in Relay for Life for several years. If you want to register as a team member with us for the Relay, please contact the church for the registration forms. The registration fee is $10 (which will get you a tee-shirt). Relay for Life is scheduled in late September or realy October each year, beginning at 3 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Please come out to Pate Stadium to be a part of this fun filled 24 hours of supporting Relay for Life. Together we can make a difference in the fight against cancer!
In addition to these hands on opportunities the church receives several special offerings throughout the year. These offerings include
- One Great Hour of Sharing
- Two-Cents-A-Meal (CentsAbility)
- the Joy Offering
- and others.
Also in our budget are several line items supporting various agencies and missionaries.
