What to expect in Sunday Worship:
We are a congregation of young and old, retired pastors, first time guests, lifetime members and regular visitors.
We give everyone a bulletin with the order of worship including responsive readings, hymn numbers, announcements and prayer concerns. The time of worship begins at 11AM and musical prelude starts about five minutes before 11.
During the worship service there is a time that children may go forward for a devotional time with the pastor or other adult leader. Young ones up to age 4 may go to the nursery.
In worship we rotate a variety of music talent. Several folks in our congregation play instruments or song or both and share those talents with us on a regular basis. We also have an adult choir that sings many Sundays.
Rev. Deck Guess (or a guest preacher) gives us a message based upon scripture that speaking to our modern situation. These sermons are in the Reformed Theological tradition. We also have time for prayer and silent confession of sin.
On the Sundays that we serve communion (the Lord’s Supper), we Presbyterians welcome all who believe to part-take of the elements. It is open communion.
Our sanctuary is historic but has been modified for wheelchair access using an entrance on the side ramp between out two buildings.
When worship concludes we often visit with one another on the church porch before heading on to our homes.
